Purse Stolen From Summit Church: Police

The purse contained more than $2,000 worth of items, police said.

SUMMIT, NJ - A purse was stolen from a church on Morris Avenue on Dec. 23, according to the Summit Police Department.

Authorities said that the victim left the purse on a pew during confirmation services. Taken was a beige Michael Kors bag with a shoulder strap and a white flower pull that contained approximately $1,500 in cash, several forms of identification, one pair of sunglasses, prescription medication and a set of car keys, police said.

The total value of the stolen items was approximately $2,000, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Summit Police Department.
