Renaissance Church Sending Clean Water to Africa through Run
More than $61,000 Raised with Team World Vision

By participating in a half marathon in Brooklyn and fundraising with Team World Vision, about 50 runners and walkers from Renaissance Church will be providing clean water to more than 1,220 people in Africa.
The church team has surpassed its goal and raised more than $61,000. $50 provides the infrastructure to bring lasting water to one person, and donations are still being accepted until the end of October.
The NYCRUNS race takes place Saturday, October 20, at 7 am from Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, and ends in Prospect Park. Crowd or financial support is welcome. More information can be found at: renchurch.com/twv.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization and the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in the world, providing clean water to one new person every 10 seconds. They work to help communities lift themselves out of poverty by addressing issues around clean water, hunger, health, education, economic empowerment, and child protection.
“The Team World Vision initiative is powerful in three different ways. It meets the deep needs of the poorest among us in the world, impacts the community here in New Jersey, and impacts ourselves,” said Team Captain Kristen Hubler, the Director of Children’s Ministries at Renaissance Church. “We run so children don’t have to walk six kilometers for contaminated water through areas of human trafficking. We want people’s lives to be transformed.”

Team World Vision is one of Renaissance Church’s initiatives through its Ren Cares Ministry. Ren Cares is an important part of the church, empowering the church family to use time, talents, and treasures to care for the needs of people within our community and around the world.
Last year, Renaissance Church raised $43,000 for Team World Vision. Many on the team are new to running. Three from Renaissance Church are also running the New York City full marathon on November 4 with World Vision for child sponsorships.
“We are extremely proud of our team and thankful for the donations and support we’ve received. We wish this kind of experience on everyone, something that every day helps push you just a little farther, something that is good for the world and challenges you in such a way so that every step makes you grow closer to Christ,” Hubler said.
Renaissance is a non-denominational church committed to helping friends and neighbors experience a growing relationship with Jesus. Fall services are held Sundays at 9 and 10:30 am and 5 pm at 2 Kent Place Boulevard, Summit. For more information, visit: www.renchurch.com.
