Last week, I was working a shift upstairs at the Junior League Shop and was helping a woman find clothes for a new job she was starting at the hospital. The customer was quiet and a bit reserved at first, but I love to help customers find the perfect outfit and kept asking her questions. The more I spoke to her, the more I learned about her new job, and I could tell she felt more at ease. She was starting to enjoy her shopping experience! I helped her choose an outfit and accessories that coordinated and fit well. She said she loved the quality of the clothing and ended up buying more than one outfit! As the customer was looking in the mirror, she got a little emotional and thanked me for all my help. She said she could see the person that she was going to become through this new job. I, too, knew she would have great success going forward. An experience like this is just one of the reasons I love, love, love volunteering at the JLS Shop.

Opened in 1934, the Shop is owned and operated by the Junior League of Summit and is the oldest retail shop in Summit. All the items for sale are donated to the Shop by League members and the local community. The JLS has returned over $3,000,000 to the community in the form of grants, projects, programs and scholarships. These funds are raised primarily via the Shop.
