Road To Be Closed In Summit From Sunday Through Thursday

One road in Summit will be closed for most of next week, and another partly closed, to replace water main valves.

SUMMIT, NJ — New Jersey American Water will be replacing several water main valves near the intersection of West End Avenue and Passaic Avenue in Summit next week.

During project work, West End Avenue will be fully closed and Passaic Avenue will be partially closed from Sunday, Aug. 29 to Thursday, Sept. 2, weather permitting, the city announced Friday.

To minimize significant traffic disruption, some work will be completed overnight for two nights between Sunday, Aug. 29 and Thursday, Sept. 2 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Police officers will be onsite, and access to emergency vehicles will be provided at all times, the city said.
