SAGE Eldercare Volunteers Honored At A Recent Luncheon Celebrating 60 Years

Volunteerism is alive and well at SAGE Eldercare in Summit!  On Tuesday, July 8, the many volunteers for the nonprofit organization were honored at the agency’s annual volunteer luncheon to celebrate the work they do and the small acts of kindness they give.

“As we celebrate out 60th anniversary, we are so grateful to have the generous support of The Grand Summit Hotel, PNC Institutional Investments, and HomeCare Assistance so we could honor our volunteers,” stated Marianne Kranz, Director of Volunteers for SAGE.  “Their sponsorships made it possible to create a wonderful celebration of our volunteers and to bring in Mary McHugh, a local author of 22 books from Chatham, who gave a humorous and heartwarming presentation based on her book, Go for It! 100 Ways to Feel Young, Vibrant, Interested and Interesting After 50.”

It takes approximately 1,000 volunteers to help with almost every service or program offered at SAGE, which was started by volunteers in the 1950’s and continues to exist sixty years later because of its strong base of volunteers.  They were, and continue to remain the foundation of what SAGE stands for in the community.
