SAGE Eldercare recently received a generous COVID-19 relief grant of $10,000 from The Grotta Fund for Senior Care, an advisory council fund at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ. The Grotta Fund has a 100-year history of commitment to older adults in northern NJ and makes grants available to organizations that improve the lives of older adults and their families.
The grant is being used to assist SAGE as they continue supporting the community’s older adults throughout the pandemic. With the grant, SAGE purchased Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as technology, and therapeutic supportive technology for Spend-A-Day Medical Adult Day Center participants to help reduce isolation experienced while the Spend-A-Day program is temporarily closed. “We are so appreciative of The Grotta Fund’s generosity,” said SAGE Interim Executive Director, Marianne Kranz. “Many of our clients feel so lonely and isolated with the temporary closure of the center. This new technology is a life line for these people.”
