Sandwich Thief Wanted In Summit

Candy bars and 12 Red Bull Energy drinks were also stolen from another Summit business, according to the police blotter.

SUMMIT, NJ — A man is wanted for stealing two sandwiches from a Summit business recently.

On April 24 at 7:28 a.m., a report was taken for a theft of two sandwiches from a business on Morris Avenue.

The manager reported that at approximately 3:30 a.m. a man entered the business and removed two sandwiches from a refrigerated case. After doing so, he exited the store without paying for them, according to Summit Police.

The man suspect was described as Hispanic, approximately 6’0” wearing a blue/gray two-toned hat, and a blue jacket, police report.

Total value of the stolen items was approximately $6.78.

More food items were also stolen from another Summit business as well.

On May 4 at 9:16 a.m., a report was taken for a theft of a business on Wallace Road. The victim reported the incident occurred between 7 p.m. on May 3 and 9 a.m. on May 4.

Taken from the business were a variety of candy bars and approximately 12 Red Bull Energy drinks. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $100, Summit Police report.

Other thefts reported in the City:

On May 2 at 10:06 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a bicycle from the train station. The victim reported the incident occurred on May 1 between 6:30 a.m. and 9:50 p.m. The bicycle had been secured to the bike rack at the train station with a combination lock. Upon returning on May 1, the victim discovered both the bicycle and the lock were missing. The bicycle was described as a brown Charge Grater 3, with eight gears and a specialized system on the rear of the bike. The total value of the bicycle was approximately $1,200.

On May 10 at 12:24 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of an iPad from a Springfield Avenue office. The victim reported the incident occurred between 3 p.m. on April 10 and noon on April 11. Taken was an iPad 4 mini, valued at approximately $400.

On May 10 at 2:23 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a delivered package from an Edgewood Road residence. The victim reported that at approximately 1:19 p.m. a delivery truck had pulled in front of the residence to deliver a package, with confirmation received via e-mail. When the door was checked at 1:35 p.m., the package had been removed from the front steps. Taken was a pair of brown Canfora of Capri sandals, valued at approximately $315.

On May 11 at 3:08 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of an EZ-Pass tag mounted to the license plate of a vehicle. The victim reported the incident occurred sometime in the week leading up to the report being filed. The value of the EZ-Pass at the time of the report was unavailable.
