Scooter Riding Pedestrian Hit By Car In Union
A pedestrian riding a scooter was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Union Township early Friday morning.

UNION, NJ — A pedestrian riding a scooter was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Union early Friday morning.
The man in his twenties was riding a battery-powered scooter at 5:46 a.m. on Morris Avenue east near the shoulder when a woman driving a 2009 Honda Civic made a left turn from Morris Avenue west onto Colonial Avenue south and struck him, Union Township Police reported.
The pedal cyclist sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital where he was treated and is now listed in stable condition, police report.

The driver of the Honda was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Colonial Ave was detoured for about two hours during the investigation. The investigation is being conducted by Officer Michael Cocca of the Union Police Department.

This investigation is ongoing pending further information and witness statements. Any witnesses to this crash are asked to call the Union Police Department Traffic Bureau at 908-851-5070.
