Simple Assault, Stolen Credentials Cap September: Summit Police
The theft of a purse was also reported to police.

SUMMIT, NJ - A slew of minor crimes capped off September's police activy that included resisting arrest, a drug arrest and a series of stolen documents.
- Summit Police arrested Maciej Mielczarek, 41, of Summit and charged him with simple assault on Sept. 11. In addition, police charged Mielczarek with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Mielczarek was processed and released with a pending court date, police said.
- The report of a stolen Michael Kors purse brought the Summit Police out to a business on Union Place on Sept. 12, police said. The victim stated the incident occurred on Sept. 7 and that a small white Michael Kors bag was placed on a table outside and when victim left the bag there and returned they discovered it had been removed. At the time of the report, the items reported missing were multiple personal documents, approximately $50 cash and a key fob. Total known value of the items taken at the time of the report was approximately $130, police said.
- A stolen passport and a missing US Permanent Residence Card brought police out to a Madison Avenue home on Sept. 18, police said. According to the victim, a passport, social security card and US Permanent Residence Card were missing. The victim reported the passport was last seen sometime in July, and had gone missing after having contractors in the residence to complete some work.
