Simulated Car Accident At Summit High School
The accident will educate students on the consequences of driving while distracted.

SUMMIT, NJ — Do not be alarmed, there is no real emergency. The Summit High School and Summit Police Department will simulate a car crash on Wednesday afternoon to educate students on the consequences of driving while distracted, be it using their cell phone and/or while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
This controlled presentation is part of a program called "One Moment, Three Decisions" (OM3D). This event involves a simulated motor vehicle accident involving students and will include responses from the Summit Police and Fire Departments and the Summit First Aid Squad.
Weaver Street will be closed to traffic between 12:30 and 2:45 p.m. during the presentation and police ask that the public do not come to the high school to view the presentation as it will create traffic issues and possibly take away from the student's overall experience.
