SPARC Launches Matching Gifts Giving TEN$Day Campaign!

Every $10 makes BIG a difference! And during Giving TEN$day, every $10 from a new donor is matched 2-to-1 by a generous SPARC supporter!

(Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee)

You’ve heard of Giving Tuesday, well the Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee introduces Giving TEN$day! A 10-day campaign where SPARC asks all performing arts supporters to consider a $10 gift to help support Summit’s performing arts students. Making it twice as nice for new donors, or previous donors who haven’t given yet this year, your $10 donation (or more) will be matched 2-to-1 by a generous SPARC supporter, up to $1,000! So, a $10 gift becomes $30, $20 becomes $60, $100 becomes $300! In other words, your donation today makes a bigger impact on the arts than any other time of year, so there’s no better time to decide to support the arts!

And these programs need it now more than ever. While the district is thrilled that the productions at all of the schools will be in-person this year, getting back into auditoriums is not without cost. Revenue is limited due to the reduced capacity required for social distancing, while new expenses like special actors’ masks and repair to technical equipment that hasn’t been used in more than a year have presented additional financial challenges.

Every $10 donation will help ease the fiscal burden the arts programs face this year, but every $10 from a new or previous donor makes an especially big difference with the 2-to-1 match being offered! So, YES! I’ll donate $10 today to support the Summit performing arts students in their upcoming plays and musicals!

SPARC’s Giving TEN$day campaign will culminate in a Holiday Sip & Shop event at Quartet in Chatham on Tuesday, December 7th! Quartet is a specialty boutique filled with distinctive home furnishings, personal accessories, and a fabulous collection of novelty apparel, jewelry, and baby gifts – a place where you can find something for everyone on your holiday shopping list!

The Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee is an organization of parents, industry professionals, and educators who know the value of an arts education, but recognize the limitations of a public-school budget. SPARC supports the plays and musicals at all seven Summit public schools, the TEDx and Speech & Debate programs at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School, and the Speech & Debate and STEP teams at Summit High School. Last year, thanks to the generosity of the Summit community, SPARC was able to contribute nearly $40,000 to these programs. Click here to learn more about SPARC or visit sparcsummit.org.
