Special Needs Youth Baseball Night and Recreation Programs are Set for This Summer
Join us for fun events and programs this summer!
The 7th annual TryCAN Baseball Under the Lights, hosted by Summit Community Programs and TryCAN, takes place Friday, June 17, 2016 at Jefferson School Field at 110 Ashwood Avenue in Summit, with a tailgate starting at 6:30pm and game at 7:15pm. Join us as family, friends, teen peer volunteers and coaches cheer on the baseball talents of our special kids. Special thanks to the Summit Junior Baseball, Sharkey’s Snack Shack, the Summit FMBA, the Summit Fire Department, Thompson Sporting Goods, and the Summit Elks Lodge for their generous support. We have a full team of players now but would love the public to join us, even just for a few minutes, to cheer our kids on. For more information, please contact Kevin at summitcan@gmail.com.
In our summer Dance and Movement camp, children (ages 5-8) participate in a unique learning environment as they move with use of traditional music and songs, creative movement, dance and rhythms, games and props that provide sensory stimulation, art, and storytelling. Group meets 11:00-11:45 am.
In our summer Mini Yoga camp, children (ages 8-12) use breathing and other calming techniques plus fun poses and games to learn respect for themselves and others while improving body awareness and ability to relax. Group meets 11:50 am - 12:35 am.
