Speed Humps Installed In Summit

New speed humps have been installed in Summit as part of an effort to enhance traffic safety and promote traffic calming measures.

SUMMIT, NJ — New speed humps have been installed in Summit as part of a coordinated effort to enhance traffic safety and promote traffic calming measures.

The Summit Police Department and Department of Community Services engineering division installed the speed humps in two locations on Ashland Road and two locations on Woodland Avenue:

  • One speed hump is on Woodland between Bellevue Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, and one is between Wade Drive and Wallace Road.
  • Two speed humps on Ashland Road between Colony Drive and Pine Grove Avenue.

Each speed hump is three to four inches high and approximately 12 feet wide with a ramp length of three feet.

“The process for implementing the traffic calming measures included surveys and discussions with residents in these areas,” explains Summit Police Chief Robert Weck.
