Subway Robbed At Gunpoint In Union County

ELIZABETH, NJ — A gunman is still at large following an armed robbery at a Subway restaurant in Elizabeth during the day on Thursday.

At around 11:37 a.m. a man entered the Subway at 136 Broad St. in Elizabeth, pulled a handgun from a grey nylon lunch box and demanded money from the clerk, according to Elizabeth Spokeswoman Kelly Martins.

After the clerk handed over the money, the gunman fled the store.

The gunman is described as a black man, thin build, 5'10" tall wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with blue striped and matching pants and dark-colored shoes, Martins said.

No injuries were reported.
