Summit Area Ymca Receives $3,425 Charitable Donation from Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro

The Summit Area YMCA received a $3,425 donation from Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro, a recently opened restaurant in downtown Summit, NJ.

Since the Summit Area YMCA first opened its doors in 1886, we have been committed to working side by side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. On Tuesday, February 7, The Summit Area YMCA received a $3,425 donation from Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro, a recently opened restaurant in the heart of downtown Summit. The donation was raised during a series of pre-opening training events that offered guests a complimentary meal in exchange for a $5.00 donation benefitting the Summit Area YMCA.

Known for its delicious, hand-stretched Neapolitan style pizzas and sandizza’s (its own version of a Panini) baked fresh at 800 degrees in its imported Italian stone-fired oven, Piattino has a reputation for using premium ingredients ranging from truffled wild mushrooms to 24-month-aged prosciutto di Parma. The new Summit location will also offer a full bar, house-made cocktails and an extensive wine selection by the bottle and glass, as well as an expansive charcuterie assortment.

“We were thrilled to introduce guests from Summit and the surrounding communities to Piattino, and wanted to find a way to give back to the community at the same time,” said Steve Baliva, Vice President of
Operations for 40NORTH Restaurant Group, owner and operator of Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro. “Providing guests with a complimentary meal while raising money for such a local and worthy organization was important to us. After having the opportunity to work with The Summit Area YMCA for the opening of The Office Tavern Grill last year, we have seen first-hand how their programs directly benefit the local youth and community, and we could not be happier to partner with them again to benefit the great community of Summit.”
