Summit Car Stolen While Left Running
Another resident also reported someone tried to break-into their vehicle with no luck, according to the Summit police blotter.
SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Police report one car was stolen and another had an attempted break-in recently in the city.
The Rotary Drive resident reported parking their locked gray Honda Accord in the driveway overnight on Nov. 11.
In the morning around 10 a.m. on Nov. 12, the resident noticed the vehicle lock cylinder on the door had been damaged. The attempted entry to the vehicle had been unsuccessful and nothing was removed, police report.

At the time of the report it was unknown what the total value of damage had been done to the victim's vehicle.
On Nov. 19 at 9:01 p.m., the owner of a 2013 white Range Rover Sport with red markings on the side panels reported leaving the vehicle running and unoccupied while parked on Iris Road when the vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle is valued at approximately $60,000. The vehicle was later recovered on Nov. 21 in Newark by Summit Police Detectives.
