Summit Extends Lyft Ride Sharing Program To Downtown Workers

Participants will receive door-to-door service to and from downtown Summit in a Lyft vehicle for the same cost as the daily parking fee.

SUMMIT, NJ — Beginning on Monday, Summit will be extending its ride sharing program to Summit residents who work in the downtown business district.

Participants will receive door-to-door service to and from downtown Summit in a Lyft vehicle for the same cost as the daily parking fee. Registration is limited to 50 residents, however it may be expanded if proven successful.

Each participant is eligible for one trip from a residence within Summit to a downtown business location and one return trip per day. Trips must be completed Monday through Friday between the hours of 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. All applicants must live in Summit.

The city will review all applications and then confirm acceptance into the program. If more than 50 residents request to participate, a waiting list will be established.

To apply for the program, fill out the registration form on the city website. The email address for each applicant must match the email used for the Lyft account.
