Summit First Aid Squad to Host EMT Course
Successful students earn Emergency Medical Technician certification.

A NJ State Emergency Medical Technician certification course will be hosted at the the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad beginning on August 27. Classes will be led by instructors from Atlantic Training Center, part of Atlantic Health System.
Classes meet twice per week on Monday & Wednesday nights with a few classes meeting on Tuesday instead of Mondays.
Active members of a volunteer first aid or rescue squad may be eligible to utilize the state EMT training fund to cover the tuition.

This is the second full EMT training class to be conducted at the Summit First Aid Squad HQ since the new building opened. The Squad has been hosting both EMT initial training and recertification classes since 1988 as well as classes in general first aid and CPR for over 25 years.

The all-volunteer First Aid Squad is entirely funded through private donations and does not bill for service. The Squad responds to emergency calls 24-hours a day, provides health & safety training to the public and is also an approved training site for the NJ EMT certification program. The Squad has 90 members, including 20 junior members and is always looking for new volunteers to join its ranks. All needed training, uniforms and equipment is provided.
