Summit High School Ranked Among The Best In The U.S.
U.S. News & World Report released its annual list of best high schools in the country.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit High School was ranked among the best in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.
Summit was ranked No. 21 in New Jersey out 103 schools ranked and No. 437 in U.S. and received a gold medal from U.S. News & World Report.

- Elizabeth High School, No. 6 in NJ, No. 145 the U.S., gold
- Union County Magnet High School in Scotch Plains, No. 7 in NJ, No. 171 the U.S., gold
- Academy for Information Technology in Scotch Plains, No. 10 in NJ, No. 262 the U.S., gold
- Academy for Allied Health Sciences in Scotch Plains, No. 18 in NJ, No. 413 the U.S., gold
- Westfield Senior High School, No. 29 in NJ, No. 770 the U.S., silver
- Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, No. 36 in NJ, No. 1,065 the U.S., silver
- Union County Tech in Scotch Plains, No. 48 in NJ, No. 1,620 the U.S., silver
- Academy for Performing Arts in Scotch Plains, No. 65 in NJ, bronze
- Roselle Park High School, No. 97 in NJ, bronze
- Union County Teams Charter School in Plainfield, No. 102 in NJ, bronze
Bronze medal schools are not ranked by U.S. News.
The 2018 best high school rankings were released on Wednesday and evaluate more than 20,500 public high schools. U.S. News identified schools that best serve all students and assessed how prepared students are for college-level work. Schools are also recognized with gold, silver and bronze medals with gold indicating the greatest level of college readiness.

Twenty-three New Jersey schools received a gold medal, 39 received a silver medal, and 41 schools received a bronze medal.
The highest ranked New Jersey school on the list was 22nd: High Technology High School in Mommouth County.
