Summit High School Student To Star In The Nutcracker

With New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble, Celebrating 50th Anniversary Season!

SUMMIT, NJ –December 4, 2019 – Donald Grennon, 15, of Summit, New Jersey will play the star role of “The Nutcracker Prince and Cavalier” in this year’s full-length production of New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble’s (NJDTE) holiday classic THE NUTCRACKER. He will be joined by renowned professional guest artists. Donald, the son of Lisa Grennon and Donald Grennon Sr., currently attends Summit High School.

NJDTE returns to the Memorial Auditorium with its 50th Anniversary Season of the full-length production of THE NUTCRACKER. Set to the classic music of Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographed by NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano, the ballet features over 60 talented pre-professional dancers from New Jersey alongside renowned international guest artists. “Donald is a very talented dancer who has both strong technique and huge stage presence. We are so thrilled to have seen him grow as an artist at NJDTE from a young man playing the role of Fritz and now taking on the roles of Nutcracker Prince and Cavalier is really a tremendous accomplishment. He is truly an example of a homegrown dancer and our impact in Summit, NJ” says NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano.

He will be joined by renowned, international guest artists including; Timothy Stickney of Complexions Contemporary Ballet in the role of Dr. Drosselmeyer and Lead Russian, Alexandra Gonzalez and Samuel Kunzman of the Met Opera Ballet, and former New Jersey Ballet prima ballerina Rosemary Sabovick-Bleich as the Grandmother.
