Please give generously to help support immigrant neighbors in Summit who are unable to access federal relief funds. All donations go directly to support grant allocations made through the Summit Interfaith Council. Funds are distributed as available to each approved applicant. Every $300 helps support a child, $700 helps an adult and donations of $1700 help support a family with vital needs including rent and food.
The fund has approved ten of the fifty-five applications that have been submitted. So far twenty-seven people have received some relief funds and fifteen of these recipients are children. A typical family, many of whom are single parents with young children is in dire straits. Household providers have been laid off, are not able to work from home, are behind on the rent, and are experiencing housing insecurity. Some of the fund recipients have been sick and are still recovering their strength. Those who notify the recipients report that they are very grateful for the difference the grant is making in their lives.
The fund is managed by volunteers through the Summit Interfaith Council, and every dollar donated goes directly to help these families. Donations to the SIC COVID Relief Fund can be made via PayPal or via checks mailed to Beacon 4 Waldron Avenue Summit, NJ 07901. Donations are fully tax deductible.
