While being a stay-at-home mom, Rzeszowski remained an active volunteer. She organized educational programs focused on the environment, civic engagement and the arts for the local public schools.

In the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Rzeszowski mobilized her neighbors to combat partisanship around the issue of gun violence. Following the Women’s March, she founded Summit Marches On, an action-based community organization. She is also an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Rzeszowski plans to continue to fight for many issues including: “Getting the economy back on track, secure excellent education for our students, focusing on women's health and pay equity and I clearly wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for safe gun laws.”

Rzeszowski also would like to improve infrastructure, roads and public transit systems in the state.

“The public transit system is in dire need of attention,” Rzeszowski said. “This district in particular really depends on NJ Transit.”

From now through November, Rzeszowski is looking forward to meeting her neighbors in the 16 towns of the district.

“I’m going to knock on as many doors and meet as many people as possible to hear their concerns and listen to their ideas,” she said. “I'm ready to bring my passion as an advocate and community organizer to Trenton on behalf of Legislative District 21.”
