12-Year-Old Summit Resident To Star In The Nutcracker
NJDTE Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of The Nutcracker
SUMMIT, NJ – November 19, 2019 – Chloe Muir, 12, of Summit, New Jersey will play the star role of “Clara” in this year’s full-length production of New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble’s (NJDTE) holiday classic THE NUTCRACKER. She will be joined by renowned professional guest artists Chloe, the daughter of Jeff and Cari-Lynn Muir, currently attends New Providence Middle School.
NJDTE returns to the Memorial Auditorium with its 50th Anniversary Season of the full-length production of THE NUTCRACKER. Set to the classic music of Peter Tchaikovsky and choreographed by NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano, the ballet features over 60 talented pre-professional dancers from New Jersey alongside renowned international guest artists. “Chloe is a beautiful dancer with technical capacity as well as tremendous acting ability that is needed for the star role of Clara. She has the extraordinary focus to detail and will bring a unique interpretation to this leading role in our production,” says Artistic Director Nancy Turano.
Chloe will also be featured in the roles of Lead Chinese and Garland in the Waltz of the Flowers. She will be joined by renowned, international guest artists including; Timothy Stickney of Complexions Contemporary Ballet in the role of Dr.Drosselmeyer and Lead Russian, Alexandra Gonzalez and Samuel Kunzman of the Met Opera Ballet former New Jersey Ballet prima ballerina Rosemary Sabovick-Bleich as the Grandmother.

All performances take place at Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University, 1 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ on Saturday, December 14 at 1:00pm and 5:00pm, and Sunday, December 15 at 2:00pm.

From Points North
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 46 West (exit 154). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.
From Points South
Take Garden State Parkway to Route 3 West (exit 153B). Exit onto Valley Road (South) toward Montclair.
Public Transportation

On-Site Parking
Paid Parking is available at the Red Hawk Parking Lot using parking vending machines. The Memorial Auditorium is a 5 minute walk from the lot.
