Summit School Schedule Shuffled By Power Outage

Franklin Elementary School students will be in class on Monday, Oct. 8.

SUMMIT, NJ - A power outage at Franklin Elementary School on Tuesday, Sept. 18 has forced a change in the school schedule, according to officials. Power restored in the area around the school on Tuesday after the remnants of Hurricane Florence moved through the area. Franklin Elementary School will be open for a full day on Thursday, Sept. 20 as well as Columbus Day, on Monday, Oct. 8.

According to officials the Oct. 8 session will be for Franklin only and is being done to comply with the 180 day class requirement. Franklin will be open for a single session day from 8:15 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. This was originally scheduled to be a Professional Development day for staff, officials said.
