Summit Scores Big In Debate Tournaments
Forty member squad competed in tournaments at Yale and the Bronx High School of Science.

SUMMIT, NJ - Fresh off their strong performance at the Yale Invitational Tournament in September, the Summit High School Speech and Debate Team placed third overall at the highly competitive national circuit tournament held at the Bronx High School of Science.
The Yale Tournament attracted over 200 schools from around the country and Summit sent a 40 member squad, including several freshmen, to compete.
Summit students that advanced to elimination rounds:- Brandon Shaw and Anthony Yu-octa finals, Jr. Varsity Public Forum Debate
- Juliette Gringeri-octa finals, Original Oratory
- Gracie Beardsley-quarter finals, Program Oral Interpretation
- Josh Daley-quarter finals, Dramatic Interpretation
- Ethan Zucker-quarter finals, Original Oratory
- Harry Saroff-semi-finals, Humorous Interpretation
At the Bronx tournament, beyond an overall third place showing, several students garnered individual awards:
