Summit Starts Registry In Light Of Controversial Leaf Blower Ban
The city wants to have a list of local landscapers so they can update them as the laws and situations evolve.

SUMMIT, NJ — After recently passing a controversial leaf blower ban for the coming summer, the city of Summit has opened a registry for licensed landscaping companies to submit their contact information so they can get updates on relevant law. READ MORE: Leaf Blower Ban Passes, But There's A Twist
The city will communicate with landscapers on business licensing requirements, regulatory updates, and amendments to ordinances such as the recently passed pilot program banning gas powered blowers, they said.
“It is a goal for Common Council to increase the ability of the city to communicate with local businesses on matters that will affect them,” said Council President Marjorie Fox. “The registration process is simple and requires only basic contact information. I encourage landscaping companies to register to receive updates on important changes and requirements.”
