Thefts, Warrant Arrests Made In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — A total of six people were arrested on warrants and there were two reported thefts recently in Summit, according to the police blotter.

Summit Police Blotter:

On Jan. 6: Christopher Jimenez, 36, of Summit was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Union Township. Jimenez was released with a pending court date.

On Jan. 8: Galvaster Leonard, 43, of Plainfield turned himself in on a warrant out of Summit. Leonard was arrested, processed and subsequently transported to the Union County Jail where he was turned over to the intake unit.

On Jan. 8: Eric T. Morgan, 30, of East Orange was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and a contempt of court warrant out of Irvington. Morgan was turned over to Irvington Police Department.

On Jan. 9: Juan M. Cortes-Carcana, 38, of Elizabeth was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Linden. Cortes-Carcana was released with a pending court date.

On Jan. 14: Konstantinos Pazas, 36, of Union was arrested on two contempt of court warrants out of Springfield Township and Wall Township. Pazas was released with a pending court date.

On Jan. 16: Helen M. Nelson, 29, of Roselle Park was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Roselle Park. Nelson was released with a pending court date.

On Jan. 16 at 8:08 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a cell phone. The victim reported the incident occurred between Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. and Jan. 15 at 8 a.m.. The cell phone, a light blue iPhone 5, was valued at approximately $300.

On Jan. 16 at 11:48 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a business on Beauvoir Avenue. The victim reported that a pair of reading glasses, valued at approximately $18 were removed from the gift shop of the business shortly before the report was taken.
