This Weekend in Summit: Street Fair, Lacrosse, Fishing Derby

Whether you're in the mood to take in a show, check out some local garage sales, watch a sporting event or enjoy shopping, rides and games and a street fair, Summit has you covered this weekend.

SATURDAY:

Sports — Several games are scheduled including a Men's Varsity Lacrosse game at the Tatlock Sports Complex. The Hilltoppers will take on West Morris Central High School. Click here for a list of this weekend's match-ups.

Theater — "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" will be the featured performance at the Summit Playhouse. The show is the comical story of an "overachiever’s angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime." The Summit Playhouse is located at 10 New England Ave. in Summit. Click here for show times and additional information.

Gone Fishing — The Summit PAL will host a Fishing Derby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Summit Municipal Golf Course. Supplies will be available at the event. 

Neighborhoodwide Tag Sale — Multi-house yard sale on Baltusrol Place and Hughes Place in East Summit! The tag sale will take place throughout the neighborhood from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shopping — Shop for Sage. Support SAGE while you shop. Nearly 20 vendors will be selling handbags, jewelry, stationery, pottery, specialty food items, apparel, and more!  Twenty percent of all sales benefit SAGE services for local seniors and their caregivers.  No entrance fee.

SUNDAY:

Downtown — Summit Spring Street Fair. Summit's downtown will be filled Saturday with games, ride, food, music and vendors as the city hosts its annual Spring Street Fair. The event will take placefrom 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Springfield Avenue.

The Arts — Art Afternoon: Storytelling with Frohawk Two Feathers. This event will take place at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, 68 Elm St, Summit. Join the artist from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Main Gallery as he tells a tale about the imaginary world he has created
