Traffic Officer No Longer Positioned Near Summit High School

SUMMIT, NJ — As the new school year gets underway this week, Summit Police are sharing information on traffic control on streets adjacent to Summit High School, Kent Place School and Oratory Prep.

There will no longer be a traffic officer positioned at the intersection of Kent Place Boulevard and High Street. An officer was present only while the Morris Avenue Bridge was under construction to ensure proper traffic management, police reported.

Police also noted that crossing guards do not direct traffic and are present to provide safe crossing for children in crosswalks.
