Man Intentionally Ran Over Dog, Killing It In Hillside Lot: Cops
Warning: Video may be disturbing to viewers. Union County Prosecutor's Office released a video showing the crime to try to find witnesses.

HILLSIDE, NJ — A Union Township man intentionally ran over a puppy, killing it in a crowded supermarket parking lot Thursday, prosecutors allege.
Luis Navarro, 73, is charged with a single count of third-degree animal cruelty, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan and Hillside Police Chief Vincent Ricciardi.
Navarro allegedly parked his gray Jeep SUV in the parking lot, walked over to the passenger’s side, took the puppy out and put it down on the pavement before backing out of his spot, running over the puppy with a front and rear tire, police said.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance video, which can be seen below. (Warning, video contains graphic images.)
After it was allegedly intentionally run over, the puppy's body was found in the parking lot of the ShopRite of Hillside on Route 22 East by police.

The puppy was a Pit bull named Luna, according to the Union County Assistant Prosecutor.

Navarro is scheduled to appear in Superior Court next on July 16.
