Zukerman Trio to Open St. John’s Summit Concert Series
World-famous trio, led by Pinchas Zukerman, to open Concert Series' third season

The Zukerman Trio, headed by world-class violinist Pinchas Zukerman will open the third season of the St. John’s Summit Concert Series on Sunday, October 2 at 3:00 pm. The concert will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit, and will be the first of four performances scheduled through Spring 2017.
Officially formed as a trio in 2013, the Zukerman Trio has delighted sold-out crowds with its music in some of the great music halls around the world. The group is led by Pinchas Zukerman, a virtuoso on the violin and viola, who is considered by many to be among the greatest in history. Over his illustrious career Zukerman has been nominated for 21 GRAMMY Awards, winning twice. Cellist Amanda Forsyth is an eminent recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician, who has appeared with leading orchestras around the world. Angela Cheng is the group’s award-winning pianist, winning the gold medal in the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition and becoming the first Canadian to win the Montreal International Piano Competition.

In addition to piano trios by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Dvorak, and Shostakovich, the Zukerman Trio’s programs often include duo performances with various couplings. Following the performance, the SJSCS will host a reception, open to all audience members, to celebrate the successful launch of the third season.
Admission for the concert is $50 for general admission and $30 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at (908) 206-4250. The St. John’s Summit Concert Series aims to bring a diverse array of music to the local communities surrounding Summit, New Jersey. The performances will both highlight the talent found in the community and offer residents the opportunity to see and hear local and international professional musicians.
