• A Shark Swam Through Flooded New Jersey Streets, and Here's the One Specific Reason Nobody Needs to Panic (pethelpful.com) — A Surf City homeowner recently filmed a small shark swimming through floodwaters past his driveway during severe coastal flooding, but experts say it was a harmless smooth dogfish. The story highlights how intense storms can push marine life into neighborhood streets, while reassuring residents that this particular shark species poses little risk to people, even in close quarters.

• Nor'easter Paralyzes Island Streets, Floods Homes and Businesses (thesandpaper.net) — Surf City saw powerful winds, serious bay-side flooding on Barnegat Avenue, and notable beach erosion from a recent nor'easter, though some areas fared better than others. Across Long Beach Island, businesses and homes in towns like Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, and Harvey Cedars are cleaning up water damage, while local officials coordinate extra trash pickups and await beach surveys from the Army Corps of Engineers.

• Beach Haven Fire Damages BLVD Pizza and Boutique (catcountry1073.com) — A serious Wednesday morning fire damaged BLVD Pizza and neighboring boutique Sincerely June on North Bay Avenue in Beach Haven, affecting a business whose other location serves Surf City pizza fans.
