130 Grams Of Pot And THC Found During Teaneck Speeding Stop: Cops

Breaking: Anthony Adams and Ohmarie Chambers were arrested after the vehicle they were in was clocked going 74 mph, the police chief said.

TEANECK, NJ — Two men were arrested on various drug charges after police found 44 bags of suspected marijuana, Oxycodone and THC edibles in their car, police said.

Officer James Lynch was running radar on Route 4 East near Queen Anne Road at 2:16 a.m. Dec. 30 when he clocked a Nissan Altima going 74 miles per hour in a 50-miles-per-hour zone, Chief Glenn O'Reilly said in a news release.

Lynch stopped the Nissan at Farragut Drive and Alfred Avenue and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car, O'Reilly said.

Lynch found driver Ohmarie Chambers, 38, of Haledon, was in possession of more than $6,000, which was bundled in a way "consistent with street-level drug dealing," O'Reilly said.

A K9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff's Department found 13 vape cartridges and seven gummy edibles containing THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, 44 bags of suspected marijuana weighting about 130 grams, 30 doses of suspected Oxycodone, seven gummy edibles containing suspected THC and a box of cigars in the car, the chief said.

Chambers was charged with various drug possession and possession with intent offenses, including possession with intent to distribute in a park zone. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for Jan. 17.

The seized cash was sent to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

The passenger in the vehicle, Anthony Adams, 32, of Englewood, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana and was released the Hackensack Police Department, who had a warrant out for his arrest.
