Teaneck Fire Department Promotes Three

Three members of the Teaneck Fire Department were promoted to new positions that took effect Saturday, according to a news release.

Thomas Smith, a Teaneck resident, was promoted from Captain to Battalion Chief. Smith is a 24-year veteran of the department.

South Amboy resident Jordan Zaretsky, a 16-year member, was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain. Both Zaretsky and Smith are graduates of Teaneck High School.

Bergenfield resident Edward Saraceno was promoted from firefighter to Lieutenant and is a 19-year veteran, the release said.

A promotion ceremony will be held at the Jan. 11 Township Council meeting at 8 p.m.
