Bergen Man Charged With Unlawful Shotgun Possession: Prosecutor

A Tenafly man has been charged with weapons possession offenses, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

Matthew Panetta, 28, was charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and third-degree possession of a prohibited weapon, a news release from Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

TENAFLY, NJ — A Tenafly man has been charged with weapons possession offenses, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

Matthew Panetta, 28, was charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and third-degree possession of a prohibited weapon, a news release from Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad identified Panetta as "unlawfully possessing a sawed-off shotgun" and arrested him Jan. 21 at his place of employment. They also searched his home in Tenafly, the news release said.
