Environmental Justice Alliance to Hold Forum for a Greener Hackensack

If you are tired of flooding around your neighborhood, air pollution in the area, and would like the City of Hackensack to be more beautiful and resilient, attend the Environmental Justice Alliance’s Community Forum. The event is co-produced by the Hackensack Environmental Justice Alliance and the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF).

The public is invited to attend the forum on Monday, July 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The forum is free and takes place at the Hackensack High School Media Library, located at 135 First Street in Hackensack, New Jersey 07601.

During the forum, the Environmental Justice Alliance will explore how green infrastructure and other strategies help address flooding, air pollution, heat islands, and other environmental issues. The NNJCF invites anyone living or working in Hackensack, who would like to be involved in addressing flooding in the city or to help beautify Hackensack through additional green infrastructure, to attend, participate, and share their concerns. Green Infrastructure for Environmental Justice

This community forum is part of the NNJCF's Green Infrastructure for Environmental Justice project. This project seeks to reduce flooding and improve environmental conditions for residents in central Hackensack and other parts of the city affected by flooding. The Green Infrastructure for Environmental Justice project is produced by the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation in partnership with Greater Bergen Community Action, City of Hackensack and Hackensack Public Schools, along with other community-based organizations in Hackensack.
