Audition for "Sylvia"

Teaneck New Theatre (TNT) has set auditions for Sylvia, A. R. Gurney’s comedy about a marriage and a dog. Ed Gross will direct.

Auditions dates are Thursday, January 5, 7:30-9:30, and Saturday, January 7, from 2:00-4:00. Callbacks will be Monday, January 9. Casting takes place at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 118 Chadwick Road, Teaneck. (St. Mark’s is one block from Cedar Lane, near Holy Name Hospital.)

Sylvia, the dog: Pert, limber and sexy, played by a woman 18-35

Greg: Middle-aged business man

Kate: Greg’s stylish, intelligent, middle-aged wife

Tom, Phyllis and Leslie: One middle-aged comic male actor

 Actors will be asked to read from the script.

Sylvia is being staged at The Hackensack Cultural Arts Center. Dates: March 2–March 11. Times: Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m., Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m.

 Anyone interested in helping backstage is also welcome. TNT is always looking for people to design and build sets, design and operate lights and sound, work on costumes and props, serve as stage crew, producer, stage manager and much else.
