Games People Play with Elana Sarraf

This program is for children and adults- families are encouraged to attend.  Puzzles will range in difficulty level and will be appropriate for ages 6 thru adult.”

Puzzles and Plexers is an enrichment program for kids, grades 2 and up, and family workshops.  The program offers participants a variety of geometric, number, word and logic puzzles to solve, and strategy games to play, that are fun, engaging and intellectually challenging (Tangrams, magic squares, soduko….and more!)  Puzzles range from easy to difficult and “puzzlers” of all levels are welcome- from beginners to advanced –from puzzle experts to the “puzzle perplexed”!  The program premiered last summer at Liberty Science center and is now being offered at local educational and recreational centers.

Puzzle Logical is an enrichment program, for students (grades 1 -12) and families, designed to develop critical thinking skills through a variety of geometric, math and logic puzzles.  Students work individually and in small groups to solve the puzzles and seek solutions.

About the Teacher

Ms. Elana Sarraf is a k-8 certified teacher with a Masters degree in Teaching from Montclair State College and a BA from Rutgers University.  She has taught a variety of subjects from middle school math to geography to enrichment/gifted programs.  Her style is both innovative and conventional – combining the best of modern techniques with a traditional teaching style. Inspired by several years of teaching she created her own enrichment program including her students’ favorite logic puzzles and activities.  Her goal is to bring kids and families together in a setting that is both fun and intellectually challenging.
