Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly

Under Artistic Director Lucine Amara, opera's most touching, tragic love story is presented in 3 Acts. A young geisha and a brash American sailor fall in love in a foreign land but the time tested clash of cultures soon rips them apart, leaving only guilt and death in its wake... Originally written by John Luther Long, dramatized by David Belasco with libretto by L. Illica & G. Giacosa.  Full orchestra under Maestro Anthony Morss with traditional staging and magnificent sets. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
