"An entertaining feast for the visual sense as well as the taste buds, P’nina Seplowitz’s new book of juvenile fiction is a noteworthy addition to the genre. For originality, style, and mind-eye factor stimulation, readers will be hard put to find a better book with which to further their children’s understanding of the world and their continuing discovery of the many wonders of creation" -

About the Book:

Oscar, a wealthy man from a small village, has a chef who prepares the fanciest meats and the sweetest desserts one could imagine. But, they do not satisfy him. He yearns to find a new food that satiates and excites him. Oscar decides to hold a contest in his village to find that one special food. He soon learns that the most simple fruits and vegetables growing in the orchards and fields right in his own village are not only healthy, but taste good too! Oscar then discovers that each fruit and vegetable provides its own unique benefit.

This story is not only entertaining and educational, but conveys many important lessons about nature’s gifts. Once Upon A Vegetable is an engaging romp through the taste buds and its often overlooked influence on life itself. This story is perfect for ages 5 and up!
