Shrove Tuesday (or Fat Tuesday) is the day before the beginning of the Christian oberservation of Lent, a solemn season of repentance and spiritual reasessment. But this is the evening before. Traditionally, it is celebrated with fat foods, and lots of fun. It is also known as Mardi Gras, Fastnacht, or Fasching. At Grace we invite you to join us for a pancake supper. At the end of the meal and some games we will gather outside to burn the palms form last year's Palm Sunday to mark the transition to the Lenten Season, and to have the ashes for the observance of Ash Wednesday the next day. Everyone is welcome at no cost. There will be a freewill offering.
