Geese With Zip Ties Around Necks Saved In Bergen County

Officers representing the Hackensack Police Department and Bergen Animal Control helped four geese, who had zip ties around their necks.

HACKENSACK, NJ — Four geese are back in the Hackensack River after helpful humans removed the zip ties from around their necks, Bergen County Animal Control said.

Two officers representing the Hackensack Police Department and animal control caught the geese, who had the black plastic tied tightly around their necks.

"Officers Kochakian and Dunn who were finally able to catch and assist the Hackensack geese that were found with zip ties on their necks," Bergen County Animal Control said in a Facebook post. "The four geese were evaluated and released into the river."
