
A Prospect Park ex-convict pulled over for drunk driving pulled a gun on a New Jersey State Police trooper and ran across Route 80 in Teaneck before police subdued him, authorities said.
Heric Malave, 26, ran off after state troopers stopped him after the silver Nissan he was driving on Route 80 west and he failed a roadside sobriety test around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, state police Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.
Malave was struggling with an officer after authorities caught up to him on the grass median between the local and express lanes when he pulled a .25-caliber handgun and pointed it at the officer, Flynn said.

A trooper who backed up the responding officer helped his colleague wrestle the weapon away from Malave, who ran away and caught up to him on the right shoulder, Flynn said.
Matave and troopers Eric Chaves and Paul Volpe were treated for minor injuries at the scene, authorities said.

Malave was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, drug possession, being a felon in possession of a firearm, driving while intoxicated, and three weapons offenses, including being in possession of a firearm.
Malave remained held in the Bergen County Jail Monday morning on $250,000 bail.
