N.J. Man Snuck Into Dad's House, Tried To Kill Him With 4 Knives, Box Cutter: Cops
A 34-year-old New Jersey man was charged with sneaking into his father's house with four knives and box cutter and trying to kill him.
A 34-year-old New Jersey man was charged with sneaking into his father's house with four knives and box cutter and trying to kill him, police said.
Corey Campbell of Ridgefield Park was arrested on assorted charges stemming from an attempt to kill his father in Teaneck, police said.
On Thursday, at approximately 7:06 a.m., officers from the Teaneck Police Department responded to 144 Voorhees Street on the report of an assault involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers found the male homeowner restraining his adult son, who was armed with a knife, police said.

The son, Corey Campbell, was disarmed and taken into custody without incident. Officers learned that Campbell broke a basement window to gain access to the residence, police said.
After entering the house, Campbell went to his parents’ bedroom where he assaulted his father with a knife. At the time of his arrest, Corey Campbell was found to be in possession of four knives and a box cutter, police said.

As a result of the assault, Campbell’s father sustained several lacerations to his upper torso, mostly to his back. He was treated at Holy Name Medical Center and released.
As a result of his actions, Corey Campbell was charged with the following: attempt to commit murder, burglary, aggravated assault, contempt of court, possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon, police said.
Bail was set at $1,000,000.
