New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy Visits Teaneck
The governor met with local officials, and stopped in at Bischoff's, one of Bergen County's favorite ice cream spots.

TEANECK, NJ — Gov. Phil Murphy's stop in Teaneck included a brief ice cream tour of one of Bergen County's favorite haunts.
Deputy Mayor Elie Y. Katz announced Monday that Murphy would be coming to Teaneck this week, and NorthJersey.com reports that his stop included a visit to Bischoff's, as well as a meeting with local officials.

He was joined in Teaneck by New Jersey Senate Majority Leader on the same day that he signed the Law Against Discrimination — A681 — into law. Weinberg was one of the bill's primary sponsors.

Katz announced that Murphy would be outside in the township on Queen Anne Road in his newsletter earlier this week, and NorthJersey.com and residents confirmed that Murphy held a meeting at Mocha Bleu nearby Tuesday afternoon.
"Governor Phil Murphy has made Teaneck a priority and an important stop during his campaign," said Katz. "Regardless of your political affiliation, please come and hear from the Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy."

Residents in favor of the One Town, One Vote movement were also present during the day.
"Today our team was out in full force to greet Governor Phil Murphy and Loretta Weinberg at Bischoff's Ice Cream in Teaneck," they said.
The group is fighting to move nonpartisan elections to the fall, and have successfully got the question placed on this year's ballot as municipal question 1.
