A Teaneck man was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
Carlos Reyes, 54, is an acquaintance of the girl, said Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.
Reyes was arrested and charged Tuesday by the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) after authorities learned that Reyes allegedly engaged in “inappropriate sexual activity” with the girl, said Molinelli.

The girl recently told what allegedly occurred between her and Reyes to a school counselor who contacted the Teaneck Police Department and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, authorities said. Teaneck police then notified the SVU.
Authorities interviewed the girl, who told them specific details about what occurred with Reyes, Molinelli said.

Reyes was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Bail was set at $100,000 with no 10 percent option. Reyes must not contact the girl and surrendered his passport. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail.
