Showering Woman Finds Stripping Burglar In Home: Police

Police found the man cleaning dishes in the kitchen when they arrived, authorities said.

A Bergen County woman was showering when she called police to report a burglar stripping in her bathroom, authorities said.

Hackensack Police officers responded to a 1st Street house on a report of a burglary in progress, Capt. Francesco Aquila said in a news release.

The woman said that while she was showering, a man, James King, of Jamaica, New York, entered her bathroom and removed his clothes, Aquila said.

King left the bathroom when the woman told him she was going to call the police, the captain said. Police officers found King cleaning dishes in the woman's kitchen, he said.

Police said King entered the house through an unsecured door.

King was charged with burglary and lewdness.
