Teaneck Student Safety Will Be Stressed At Demonstration, Assembly Thursday
According to Safe Kids New Jersey, motor vehicle crashes are the most common cause of accidental death among children 14 and younger.
TEANECK, N.J. — Students from Hawthorne Elementary will attend a demonstration Wednesday designed to teach them about safely walking to school.
Staff from Hackensack University Medical Center and volunteers with Safe Kids Bergen County will host the International Walk This Way program. Safe Kids Worldwide created the program is teach children safe behavior, including how to walk to school safely.
According to Safe Kids New Jersey, accidental injury is the leading cause of death among children 14 and younger in the United States. Motor vehicle crashes are the most common cause of these accidents.

Students will watch safety demonstrations outside, tour ambulances, and attend a pedestrian safety presentation.
