Surveillance Video Released In 'Cold Blooded' Teaneck Killing
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cold Case Task Force will begin releasing new information on multiple cases from across the county.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cold Case Task Force has released new information to the public about three unsolved cases, including a Teaneck woman who officials believe to be the victim of a "cold blooded murder."
This new information comes as part of an initiative from the task force to obtain public assistance in the search to close these unsolved cases. Information has been released on the prosecutor's website, as have videos explaining the initiative, and providing a glimpse into what the prosecutor's office already knows.
The first batch of this new information was released Friday, and includes three women who the task force believes were murdered, including Joan Davis, a 74-year-old Teaneck resident. Police are also seeking information from the public regarding the deaths of Dolores Alliotts, of Palisades Park, and Rosetta Jean-Baptiste, whose body was discovered on Dec. 10, 1993 in Ramsey.

Law enforcement officials have seemingly linked the kllings of both Davis and Alliotts, of Palisades Park, due to the timing of the deaths and similar details.
According to the task force, Palisades Park police responded to 261 12th St. around 2:38 a.m. on April 28, 2010. Officers were responding to reports of a house fire, but upon arrival discovered Alliotts, who medical examiners said died from a combination of blunt force trauma to the head, and 55 stab wounds.

They believe the fire was set after the suspect committed the homicide, in an effort to cover up the crime scene.
Teaneck police found an almost identical scene around 10:50 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2010, when they responded to a house fire at 976 Alpine Dr. in Teaneck. This was the home of Davis, who medical examiners also concluded died from head trauma and multiple stab wounds.
But Davis was also bound at the hands and feet, officials said.
Surveillance video and evidence left at the scene suggests to officials that the suspect was a lone, male actor, who say believe wore a size 9-10 shoe and was under 160 pounds in 2010.
That surveillance video had never been released to the public, until Friday. Watch it below:
New information was also released in the death of Jean-Baptiste, then 18, who was discovered in Room #2 of the Maple Shade Motel in December 1993. Her death was ruled a homidice after an autopsy determined the cause of death was "mechanical asphyxiation due to ligature compression to her neck."
She was nine months pregnant.
