Teaneck Cancels Thursday Recycling Ahead Of Nor'easter
Zone 8 Recycling scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Friday, the township announced.
TEANECK, NJ — As New Jersey prepares for the forecasted nor'easter this week, Teaneck officials have altered municipal plans.
Thursday recycling pick-up for Zone 8 residents has been postponed to Friday, township officials announced Tuesday.
The recycling depot will also be staffed and opened to residents Friday, according to a news release.

Parking ordinances will also be in effect.
"Parking of any vehicle on any portion of a public street is prohibited whenever snow is falling and the accumulation is such that it covers the public streets in the Township and plowing is required, except where designated," officials said, in a news release.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service:
- Wednesday: Snow likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Northeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
- Wednesday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Steady temperature around 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Blustery, with a northeast wind 14 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 10 to 16 inches possible.
- Thursday: Snow likely before noon, then a chance of snow showers, mainly between noon and 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Blustery, with a north wind 17 to 22 mph decreasing to 11 to 16 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
- Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.
